So you may have read my posting from just 2 days ago and Read how we had the scare with the looped tubing in her neck. Well that was something that got our eyes glued to Danielle. Wednesday I arrived home from work. Brad and I were in the living room talking to her and he said um look at this. I looked at the top of her head which is where her shunt reservoir is and we saw a problem. A red fluid filled area bulging out. Not good. I rushed her to the university immediately. They thankfully got us right in.. but at 1am we finally got to a room as a patient.
This afternoon Danielle had emergency surgery to remove..yes completely remove both of her shunts. She is in the picu and will be for 2-3 weeks until the infection clears and she can have both of her shunts replaced. Will update more tomorrow. We are very overwhelmed and honestly worried, scared, angry, frustrated and parents who so badly want and thought we had our girl on the right road. Well major road block came up. Will update more later. She came thru surgery ok and now relaxing and trying to get a little shut eye.~
